No, you don't need a referral to see a private speech therapist. However, if you'd like to access Medicare rebate, you will need to get a care plan from your GP.

We offer assessments, individualised treatment plans and therapy for speech, language, communication and swallowing/feeding concerns. Our services include both in-person and teletherapy options. For more information about services see here.

Therapy sessions typically last between 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the learner's needs and treatment plan.

The frequency of therapy sessions varies based on the individual's specific needs and goals. Some may require weekly sessions, while others may benefit from bi-weekly or monthly sessions.

Before your first appointment, it's helpful to send any previous reports or information regarding the participant's additional supports. Please also be sure to provide details if you are claiming a rebate from Medicare (CDM plan), Private Health Insurance or NDIS (self-managed or plan-managed). Background information and understanding of the goals of the individual will be discussed. Rapport building is key to ensuring we build a connection with the individual, so they're feeling comfortable. If appropriate and required, direct or indirect assessment tasks may be completed.
